Driving is very much considered a life skill these days, as no matter what sort of public transport system is set up, the ability to drive is always going to mean that you are more independent, more able to run to your own schedule and follow your own plans unrestricted by other people’s timetables. The legal age is still 17 and driving lessons can be an ideal present for someone reaching this milestone. It’s important not to be in a rush at all, so be sure that you arrive in plenty of time, with everything you need; allow extra time for finding the test centre and unexpected eventualities such as traffic.
